48. What are some of your OC’s vices?

Lionheart’s biggest vice is his tendency to shoulder the blame for everything–even when he isn’t at fault, like his mother’s death by childbirth or his father’s disapproval of him growing up.  He is also somewhat vain, though that is mainly because he is extremely self-conscious about his appearance.

Kid’s biggest vice is his reluctance to trust people; it takes him a while to trust the Moonlit Gulch crew, though he eventually does warm up to them and consider them friends.  Lionheart was the only person he trusted from day one, given how Lionheart stuck his neck out for him.  Kid also holds grudges for a long, long time.

Rest under a cut–

49. If your OC experienced trauma, what was it?
Lionheart being subjected to his father’s method of “discipline” has definitely left him mentally scarred; he developed serious claustrophobia as a result of that.

Kid never really was subjected to that level of trauma, but being forced to grow up on the streets in his teenage years was definitely something he should never have had to go through–though he managed to get through it without any lasting effects, his reluctance to trust people notwithstanding.

50. What secrets does your OC have?
Lionheart’s biggest secret is his true name; it’s the only way to link him to his father, and he kept it hidden to make it difficult for his father to find him.  Lionheart is also very quiet about his role in the Underground Railroad, in the event he or the people he worked with might have made enemies with long memories even after the Civil War ended.

Kid’s biggest secret is the making sure that his birth parents never know who he is or that he survived and thrived on his own.  He has never–and will never–forgive the fact that he was abandoned by them just because his birth was part of an affair between the two of them that they were trying to cover up at the time (without even bothering to give him a name), and he absolutely refuses to give them the satisfaction of knowing that, in spite of it all, he turned out alright, claiming that the best revenge of all is seeing them forever wonder and worry at the thought of what could have happened to him in the last 20 years.

51. What are some of your OC’s morals?
Lionheart, being a Chaotic Good, definitely believes in the Honor Before Reason trope–no matter what the situation, he will do the honorable thing.  He believes in helping out those who need it, and stopping those who inflict cruelties.  He also believes in giving second chances, but he’s also smart enough to know when not to offer them.  Lionheart also tries to avoid violence, only resorting to it if there’s no other way out of a jam.

Kid was first a Chaotic Neutral and then a Chaotic Good; when he was a Chaotic Neutral, stealing to survive, his credo was to never steal from anyone who would suffer as a result of the loss.  As a Chaotic Good, he, too, believes in helping those who need it and stopping those who also need to be stopped.  Kid is more of a brawler than Lionheart and is quicker to get into fights, but in all cases (whether stealing for himself or on a mission to help others), he holds himself to a promise that he will never kill unless there is no other option (Lionheart’s father has nearly caused him to break that promise… more than once).

52. What are some of your OC’s motivations?
Lionheart’s main motivations are, after growing up seeing the cruelties in the world, to try to make things better.  He knows that not very many people can, so he will do what he can.  His other main motivation is Kid.

As a Chaotic Neutral, Kid’s main motivation was merely surviving; as a Chaotic Good with Lionheart, though he seeks to help make things better, too, Lionheart is mostly his main motivation, as well.

Trainer’s Log: Entry 147

So, I’ve been using Sinnoh Stones, with my pride and joy of my evolved Gen 4 mons being my shiny Roserade.  The day I was supposed to head to North Carolina last week for Thanksgiving, I ended up catching a Shiny Drowzee–so that was fun.  And I did manage to catch one Carnivine while I was in NC.

As for today’s Community Day special event, I admittedly didn’t try too hard, since I had all the shinies already, so I tested out my Pokéball Plus–the Lartivar, the Beldum, and one of the Mareep were caught by the Plus.  And I traded for the Kabuto–and got Cresslia in a raid, finally!
