Trainer’s Log: Entry 147

So, I’ve been using Sinnoh Stones, with my pride and joy of my evolved Gen 4 mons being my shiny Roserade.  The day I was supposed to head to North Carolina last week for Thanksgiving, I ended up catching a Shiny Drowzee–so that was fun.  And I did manage to catch one Carnivine while I was in NC.

As for today’s Community Day special event, I admittedly didn’t try too hard, since I had all the shinies already, so I tested out my Pokéball Plus–the Lartivar, the Beldum, and one of the Mareep were caught by the Plus.  And I traded for the Kabuto–and got Cresslia in a raid, finally!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 146

So, Community Day today… eh, it could have gone better.  But it could have gone worse–only got 3 shinies, a far cry from the usual ~10 I’ve gotten in the past CDs since July.

(Also, please appreciate the punny name of my female Cyndaquil….)

And I did get 2 shiny Ponyta from the mini Ingress tie-in event earlier this week, so there’s that!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 145

So, I seemed to have had a temporary shiny curse during the Halloween event–didn’t get a single shiny (though I did get Shedinja, Spiritomb, and evolved my highest CP Piplup), but the curse broke today–caught shiny Pinsir and Gengar, and traded for a shiny Poochyena, which I evolved!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 144, Part 1

So, things have happened!  The egg I got from Robert Vaughn’s hometown of Ridgefield a few weeks ago ended up being a Tyrogue, who I then evolved into Hitmonlee.  I’ve also been doing well with Gen 4, got all the starters (been focusing more on Piplup, my favorite of the gen), Shinx, and the com mons.

Today’s Beldum Day was successful, as well–7 shinies, and a Perfect Lucky Metagross!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 143

So, today, @ksturf and I concluded our adventure in Ridgefield, CT–where Robert Vaughn lived.  Got some Pokéstops and gifts from there, an egg, and I put the first-ever Chansey–>Blissey I ever got in a gym there.  This Blissey was the Chansey I hatched a few days after 11/11/16–it was the first Pokémon I’d hatched after that day, and so I named her after Robert in his honor, and vowed that if I ever visited Ridgefield, I would put her in a gym.  And today, I finally did.

There were spots in other gyms open, so I also ended up putting Albert the Pidgeot in one of them, too–Albert is my Pokémon partner, one I’ve had since the earliest days of the game, and I hadn’t put him in a gym for a while, but since I’d named him after one of Robert’s characters, I decided to leave him in a gym, as well.

So, didn’t fill any ‘dex holes, but still, it was a notable day!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 142

So, @ksturf​ and I had our adventure in Manhattan, and in and amongst the sightseeing, we hunted for Pokémon (because of course).  Highlights included seeing that sights like UNCLE HQ the UN Building and the Majestic Theater were stops, and seeing my first ever wild Raichu–on Broadway!

But the biggest, unexpected surprise came when @ksturf​ discovered that the NYC Comic-Con was going on on our second day there, and that Niantic had set up a special stop for it–and that they would have Unown spawning everywhere in Lower and Midtown Manhattan!  Central Park was absolutely crawling with them, and between Thursday and Friday, the two of us got over 100 Unown each (and traded one on a whim that turned out to be lucky)!

…So, yes, a highly successful Pokémon Adventure!  And I also filled up some holes in my ‘dex thanks to trades with @ksturf​!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 141

So, my shiny hunting during the Kanto event resulted in another shiny Charmander (which I already had plenty of…), and… a shiny Omanyte, which I didn’t have!

I’d done a couple raids at the nearest EX-eligible gym last week, just on a whim, and I got super-lucky and got an invite (and, even luckier, it didn’t get canceled like so many EX raids did this go-round)!  There was a gigantic crowd, and we all split off into smaller groups based off of friendship level (a nice departure from the days when splitting off was solely done by team membership), and took it down fairly quickly–got mine on the third ball!

So, another hole in the ‘dex filled–and more will be filled very soon when I trade with @ksturf​!
