Trainer’s Log: Entry 138
So… On this day, 9/13/18, I have fulfilled a dream I had ever since I was 12 years old…
I GOT THE ORIGINAL 151–COMPLETE KANTO ‘DEX!
I still have Johto and Hoenn to complete, of course, but to finally, finally, have all original 151… It’s an indescribable moment!
Trainer’s Log: Entry 137
So… today’s Moltres Day was almost an absolute disaster–30 minutes before the event was going to start, my game crashed and would not let me back in. I had to delete the app and redownload it, and even then the first raid was super laggy. It took forever to load, we beat the raid and then it froze, we closed the app and tried to log back in. Finally got back in, tried to get back in the raid, and it took forever to load again. I was on the verge of giving up, but we stuck it out, and… it loaded a shiny. I legit screamed. I ended up doing more raids (which went much more smoothly, thankfully) since I had a star piece going, but this was my only shiny, so I’m definitely very glad I stuck it out.
…Name is a reference to one of my favorite eps of the Johto arc from the anime–
Also, while I didn’t fill any holes in my ‘dex today, in less than a month, @ksturf will be helping me fill three of those holes, including the last ‘mon I need for the original Kanto 151!

Trainer’s Log: Entry 136
Between this ongoing Wingull event and the last Johto one, I had fairly decent shiny luck–got a shiny Sunkern and Pineco, both of which I evolved (ironically, I must have done the Pineco quest at least a dozen times, and didn’t get a shiny–the one, solitary wild Pineco I clicked on during the entire week-long event? Shiny. Of course…), and after a great deal of searching, got a shiny Wingull today. I also traded one of my three shiny Sableye (yep, I had three of them. How, I don’t know…) for a Kangaskhan! I now have all of the Kanto and Johto regionals, and 150 of the original Kanto 151!
Also, I finally did get Regirock, so there’s that, too!

Attempts at trying to get Regirock have failed, but I’ve been doing this trading thing to fill up the gaps in my ‘dex as Gen 4 comes ever closer to PoGo. Also got my first lucky Pokémon!

So, the dual Community Day was a huge success–I got 23 shiny Eevee and got super luck with my evolutions yesterday to get one each of the Kanto trio.
I also got my first Registeel yesterday and first Alola Marowak today, and got my first Unown in a trade!
Trainer’s Log: Entry 133
So, today is a special day–not just because I got my second Alolan Raichu (the one pictured here is my first, which I caught last Sunday), but today is the second anniversary of the day I caught a certain Pidgey that ended up being my MVP for the first 6 months of the game. Albert, my Pidgeot (a legacy Pidgeot with that moveset), who is basically to me what Pikachu is to Ash, pretty much mowed down everything in his path, including Dragonites and Charizards.
Sadly, Pidgeot was among the ‘mons that got nerfed majorly in fall of 2016, but even then, I still put Albert in gyms until he got outclassed by other ‘mons I obtained. I don’t put him in gyms anymore, but I do use still him in 1 and 2 star raids!
Trainer’s Log: Entry 132
So, I was not as lucky this Zapdos day as I was Articuno day–no shiny for me (not really torn up over it, either, seeing as though you can’t even tell the difference between the sprites…), but it wasn’t a total waste; I had an excess of shiny Minun from last week–one of which was a male that I named after Luigi (sadly did not get a shiny male Plusle to name after Mario–only females), and, today, I ended up trading one of my spare female shiny Minun for a Volbeat!
The raids also gave me enough rare candy to get a Gardevoir; I have another male Ralts that’ll be Gallade when gen 4 drops–a male Gardevoir might end up being rarer after that…
Trainer’s Log: Entry 131
So… things happened. Yesterday, I got Summer!Raichu, and finally added Salamence and the last Alola ‘mon I needed, Sandshrew/Sandslash, to the ‘dex. And after like 9 raids yesterday, finally got a shiny Articuno–my first shiny legendary ever.
And today, Community Day was a success–I got two shiny sunglasses Squirtles, one of which (the one I evolved) was found literally at a Pokéstop that is a turtle sculpture–and since sunglasses shinies were shiny for everyone, pretty much everyone stopped to take an AR pic of it because the irony was too good. And since he’s literally wearing the same kind of shades that Robert wore as Stockwell (which were 99.9% his personal shades, since I’ve seen pics of him wear those elsewhere), I named him Stockwell (to go with the Shiny Venusaur I named after Ivan Trigorin).
I got 13 shiny turtles overall–the two sunglasses ones, and 11 normal. Unfortunately, aside from one of the 11 that was only 10 CP, the other 10 have horrible stats. Still, I suppose they’ll be good trade fodder for those who missed today…

So… today was… interesting. I spent the morning looking for shiny Roselia and coming up empty. And then, while trying to revive a fainted ‘mon, I accidentally activated my last Lucky Egg and had to do an unexpected evolve session, among them being the Alolan Vulpix I got from @ksturf and the Alolan Grimer I got from one of my old squad in my hometown–only Alolan egg ‘mon I’m missing is Sandshrew.
And then, hours later, when I was opening the app just to get a Pokéstop, I randomly selected a Roselia and… found a shiny! So I won’t have to go shiny hunting tomorrow, which is great, because it’s supposed to get 106F/41C tomorrow, so, yeaaaah… staying inside. I have some catch-based research tasks that I can do from the spawn points in my apartment to continue contributing to the global challenge, so there’s that…
Trainer’s Log: Entry 129
My first attempt at a Regice raid was successful! I got this just before the friends feature rolled out, which I have been enjoying immensely–basically added all of the old crowd from my hometown that I had to leave behind when I moved back in February, and I guess I’ll be adding some local trainers here during the next Community Day, which isn’t that far away.
I caught an Alolan Rattata today, and hatched an Alolan Meowth from the egg I got from @ksturf!
