Trainer’s Log: Entry 123
So, today’s Community Day was a very unexpected success–I had heard from the reports from Asia, Australia, and Europe that the Kanto Event spawns had nerfed the Community Day Mareep spawns–and it was true. However, I did get some shinies and evolved the best two–one with the special move and the other without. I also have another Dragon Pulse non-shiny Ampharaos, and I powered up my first-ever Ampharaos, Janet, since I had the candy to spare.
I also did a few raids and finally got a Latios–there was no shortage of people because of Community Day, so I’m glad to finally have one!

So, today’s Community Day was also a success–though I only got 2 shinies (one I evolved), I did get some solid Venusaurs–my strongest being that female, Demeter. She is still only second best to Ivan, the Venusaur I’ve been using all this time, but she has Frenzy Plant now.
It was another exhausting day, but another fun one; I’m really enjoying the monthly Community Days, and hope they continue!

…No, I didn’t actually buy the Rocket uniform (it’s 400 pokécoins for the top alone, 100 for the skirt, and another 300 for the belt, boots, and hat) as I have a more practical use for my pokécoins. But I did want to see what I’d look like as part of the dark side…
…Or, more likely, I’d use it to sneak into Team Rocket hideouts like how Napoleon uses THRUSH uniforms to sneak into theirs…

So, today’s Community Day was a success! It’s also special since it’s the first time I’ve gone Pokémon hunting since moving from my hometown. I got 3 shinies, two of which with third-tier IVs I evolved (the third is forever a Dragonair, as she has horrible IVs and low CP, heh…), caught a Beldum and hatched a Trapinch, both of which I didn’t have!
So, all in all, an exhausting day, but well worth the effort!

So, the next wave of Hoenn Pokémon have arrived, though the distribution of certain ones appear to be… rather skewed, shall we say? Swablu have taken over everything.
Did manage to get Rayquaza on my first try, so I’m happy about that! Less-than-perfect moveset, but nothing a couple TMs can’t fix!

So, more things have happened. With the new drop of Hoenn Pokémon, I’ve been filling in more gaps in my ‘dex, and I managed to get a high-IV Kyogre, my first successful legendary since the departure of the dogs (real-life issues prevented me from getting Ho-Oh, and Groudon was impossible because most of the local raid group was away and we couldn’t mobilize enough people to fight it. Ah, well.)
Blaziken had Brave Bird initially, but a TM got me the move I wanted–I already have several great fire attackers and need more fighting, and Blaziken is one of the few fighting types I like, so… It works out! Need to power her up, but she’ll be strong eventually!

So, a long time ago, back when my Pokémon Crystal cartridge was working, I hatched a shiny Pichu out of the Odd Egg. For those who have followed me for a while now, you know that Raichu is my favorite Pokémon–so I was over the moon to get a shiny Pichu. I named her Natalie and raised her all the way to a Raichu, and there she was, for many years… until the internal battery of the cartridge died–and when my cartridge died, she went with it, as the save data was wiped.
Fast forward to today, the one-day Community Day event in Pokémon Go, with Pikachu running around all over the place. And, at last, I found a shiny Pikachu–a female.

…She’s back, and better than ever.
(Also caught a Delcatty and a Barboach, which I didn’t have, but I’m way, way more excited about this.)

I still haven’t forgotten what happened in Super Mystery Dungeon
Trainer’s Log: Entry 116
So… it’s been a while since my last log entry, even with the release of Hoenn Pokémon. This was due to some real-life issues that kept me busy and otherwise unable to play for the last few weeks–I did get a Farfetch’d over Thanksgiving when the Global Catch Challenge happened, but after that, I was away in India for 3 weeks, tethered to wifi and unable to play–the biggest disappointment was missing out on Ho-Oh, and with my local raid group mostly having gone home for the holidays, it’s doubtful I’ll get Groudon, either. Oh, well…
I did attempt to try to get the Hoenn Europe/Asian regionals (Seviper and Minun) while I was in India by using up all my incenses, but that plan ended in failure–I did, however, get a Torchic from the incense, which I named Murgi (the Hindi word for “chicken”); Murgi is currently my buddy, replacing Lionheart the Totodile, who had been there for the longest time. My layover in Paris was only just over an hour–not enough time to go hunting for Minun or Seviper there, sadly, but I did take the gym in the Delta/Air France terminal–and shoutout to my fellow Mystic teammate who fed berries to the Snorlax I’d left there to keep him alive while I was in-flight and unable to do anything about the gym being under attack by a rival team until the 8 hours had passed so that I could get my full 50 coins.
Weather’s been a bit bleh, but it was slightly warmer today, so I went out and searched for some new Hoenn Pokémon and got a good number of them–and I got the Delibird that was released for this winter event!
