In the Modern variation of the Octopus game in Game & Watch Gallery 4, Mario can collect multiple pieces of treasure in his bag, but becomes slower the more he puts in without unloading it.
Top: 50 is the largest number of treasure items Mario can carry. Once 50 is reached, Mario will refuse to put more treasure into the bag, simply looking at it instead when the A button is pressed. The walking speed when carrying 50 pieces of treasure is extremely slow.
Bottom: Reaching the boat while carrying 50 pieces of treasure results in gaining 100 points (see the points on top of the screen), which is the most points that can be gained in any game in the Game & Watch Gallery series in a single step.
