The Super Mario Bros. 3 title screen contains a subtle reference to Super Mario Bros. in the palette of the “3″ in the logo. The number cycles through the exact same colors that the Question Blocks in Super Mario Bros. cycle through. Note that the Question Blocks in Super Mario Bros. 3 itself do not use this palette, so the reference is likely to have been deliberate.
Luigi having chest pains. I find that animation hysterical because, it looks like Luigi is being overdramatic and its pretty comical to watch it. For instance, the middle one looks like Luigi is doing a Shakespearean moment. I don’t know which one though; maybe Hamlet or something.
